COACHING DEFINITIONS
DEFINITION
An actor's coach's intention is to inspire, to motivate, advise and guide, in order for them to be as free, precise and creative as possible. With the coach they become secure in their choices be that, career opportunities or their acting propositions, by exploring the possibilities and liberating them mentally, physically, emotionally and vocally. The aim is for the actor to
arrive in the casting room, on set , in a press conference or on stage
confident and secure .
When preparing for an in person audition/casting, the coach works with the actor to analyze the text, make specific choices regarding the life of the character, and partner with the actor in the process of creating that life. The intention is to prepare the actor to arrive with a memorable initial proposal. However, the actor must remain open to adapting to new directions and adjustments given by the director and/or casting director.

The coach assists the actor to analyze the script, the character and all their scenes. Then works with them on creating the character physically and psychologically, using both the information from the script and their imagination. The coach enables them to create the character’s world as well as bringing themselves and their creativity into the role, helping them to access their instincts and to be in the present moment.
FOR A ROLE
DIALOGUE
Dialect coaching entails preparing the actor to speak in the vernacular specific to the region or country of the character. The coach must also make sure that the actor has a comprehensive knowledge of dialects in various historical times, as well as how body language reflects dialect. Great dialect coaches can help an actor acquire dialects, rid themselves of dialects, or retrieve lost dialects.
DIALECT
After the actor's preparation, on-set coaching requires keen observation, listening skills, and discretion. The coach deals with unforeseen problems, such changes in dialogue or action. The responsibility of the coach is to be knowledgable about the rules and ethics of the actor's job, so as to reassure both the actor and director in their respective roles.
ON SET
Career development coaching helps actors move forward in their career, based on their individual goals and aspirations. The coach shares their expert knowledge of the entertainment industry and collaborates with the actor to define a specific and personalized plan of action, establishing short and long-term individual career goals. The coach then regularly monitors the progress of the plan, and determines how to overcome whatever challenges are encountered.
CAREER
The media coach trains actors in how to comport themselves when answering questions from the press and public. The coach collaborates with actors on the preparation of speeches and responses, so they can confidently articulate their artistic and collaborative choices from a sociological, political, environmental, and spiritual point of view.
