My Story
London-born, trained in the UK and at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Kester has been living and working in France for over 30 years. He is associate artistic director of Drama Ties – a professional schools’ theatre company, which he founded in 1999, producing and directing a dozen shows in English. He directed the first French production of Jonathan Harvey’s Beautiful Thing in 2009 in Paris, and on tour. He can currently be seen in the film The Translators, directed by Régis Roinsard, with Lambert Wilson and Alex Lawther. He is also a voice artist, working daily on commercial and corporate campaigns, radio dramas and documentary projects, for which he also translates and directs. He’s a board member of Les Voix, a group of professional voice artists in France. He’s an acting teacher at theatre schools in Paris, including the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique, and coaches actors regularly.
